New Scrub Video Action

We know it’s been a while and we’re excited to say WP Interactions 1.1.0 is finally here.

This release brings 1 brand-new action that expand what’s possible with scroll-based animations and dynamic interactions.

Whether you’re building scroll-driven experiences or experimenting with personalized animations, this update is all about giving you more possibilities right inside the WordPress Block Editor.

🎬 New: Scrub Video Action

Introducing the Scrub Video action—an entirely new way to tie video playback directly to scroll depth.

This means you can now:

• Play a video forward as the user scrolls down
• Rewind as they scroll back up
• Control which video segment maps to the scroll area

Here’s an example:

It’s a great way to bring motion storytelling, product reveals, or creative background effects to your site—all synced perfectly with scroll.

👉 Tip: Combine this with entrance animations or opacity effects for some seriously immersive sections.

💬 New: Get Text from Element Action

This new action was introduced at v1.0.3, but we’ll also mention it here.

Need a way to personalize an interaction using text from your site? Now you can.

With the new Get Text from Element action, you can dynamically grab the text content of any element (i.e. blocks, text input, form fields, etc) and use it elsewhere in your interaction logic. Like in this example below where we used actions: Get Text from Element, Copy to Clipboard, Confirmation Dialogue to create a Copy to Clipboard interaction.

Or you can pull a value from an input field and use it for personalization.

This action opens the door to smarter, more dynamic designs—especially if you’re working with forms, filters, or interactive components.

🔄 New: WordPress 6.8 Compatibility

We’ve tested and updated WP Interactions to be fully compatible with WordPress 6.8. That means smoother performance, better block support, and peace of mind knowing your interactive designs are running on the latest WordPress core.

🛠️ Fix: Scroll to Element Console Error

We’ve fixed a bug that threw a console error when using the Scroll to Element action. If you’ve run into this before—thank you for your patience. It’s fixed now.
